5th Widex Congress of Paediatric Audiology

Widex A/s conducted its biennial conference of world's pediatric audiologists from 15-17 May 2008 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Eminent speakers from across the globe presented original research and its applications for the clinicians. Some of the speakers were – Dr Arthur Boothroyd, Dr Nina Kraus, Dr Teresa Ching, Dr Chistine Yoshinaga-Itano, Dr Edwin Rubel and Dr Patricia Stelmachowicz. The topics covered nuances in speech perception, genetics, rehabilitation and assessment, to summarize holistic aspects of pediatric audiology. The workshop was followed by three hands-on clinician-oriented workshops on pediatric assessment, frequency transposition and Fast ForWordTM conducted by international experts.

More than 630 hearing professionals from 50 different countries took part in this event. The Indian delegation comprised mainly of the pediatric audiologists – Ms. Neelu Somani, Ms. Meenakshi Wadhera, Ms. Shameen Taj, Dr Shitij Malik, Ms Devangi Dalal and Dr Reddy Sivaprasad. The Widex congress, as judged by speakers and participants, was a huge success – both on a professional and organizational level.
Judging the enthusiasm among the customers at the stand, we hope to have a good year ahead.
