The performance of digital hearing aids depends, to a large extent, on the quality of the batteries used. To get the full benefit of one’s hearing aid it is important to use high-quality batteries.The lifetime of a battery is influenced by the quality.

Battery types:
There are two types of Batteries:

  • Widex batteries are of the Zinc Air type and need air to work.
  • Rayovac Battery.

With reliable batteries, you avoid periodic hearing aid failures or premature activation of the low battery alarm (i.e. beep-tones before the battery is exhausted). With Widex, you are sure to get a reliable, high performance quality battery.

5, 10, 13, 312 and 675 Widex battery sizes:
There are five sizes of Widex batteries: 5, 10, 13, 312 and 675.
And four sizes of Rayovac batteries 10, 13, 312 and 675.
It is important to choose the size that is suitable for one’s hearing aid.The recommended battery type can be seen in the user’s instructions received with the hearing aid.It is important that air should not enter the batteries before use. Each battery is therefore provided with an adhesive label that ensures that the batteries are sealed and fresh until use. Widex batteries are non- rechargeable.

Expiry date code
Please note the expiry date code on the front of the battery pack stating how long the batteries will be good.The code consists of three letters indicating month followed by the two last digits of the relevant year, so “Jan - 04” means January 2004, by which date the batteries should be used.

Unpacking batteries : Do not remove the sealing label until just before inserting the battery in the hearing aid.
Storing batteries : Be sure to keep batteries away from sparks, flames and strong heat. Always keep batteries out of children’s reach to prevent swallowing.
Handling exhausted batteries : Always remove exhausted batteries from the hearing aid as they may otherwise leak and damage the hearing aid.
